Need your help x]

So I was browsing through Amy Antoinette’s blog and this picture just jumped out at me. Ever since I was little I have been obsessed with red hair! My inspiration has been from The Little Mermaid, Poison Ivy and even Satine from Moulin Rouge. In 7th grade I finally dyed my hair from my natural hair colour (blond) to red. I loved it so much that I have had it ever since! Except for one year in which I went back blond but quickly realised it wasn’t for me. So my issue with this picture is that I look at it and I’m sad because I so badly want this red. I dye my hair red from a box about once a month (I know it’s terrible) and after about two washes the red has faded. I am so sick of having faded red hair.. I so want that vixen fiery red.. Like poison ivy’s hair! Now to my question to you guys. Do you think going to a salon to get my hair dyed would make a difference compared to just dying it from a box? I want the red like the girl in the photo has but I’m not sure if I want to spend $60 if it is just going to fade as fast as it would from a box. I’m probably not making any sense but hopefully you guys will understand what I’m talking about and give me some helpful advice! Do you think going to a salon is worth it and will give me that amazing colour that will last? Or should I just stick to boxes and if so do you know of any amazing box dyes? Thanks lovelies!

Ah her hair is gorgeous!!

Ok keep it that red, you need to maintain it constantly and its going to cost you!! You can't keep dying it yourself either, you'll fry your hair. Sooo its up to you, but i think the colour you have now suits you really well

that color is amazing... it would look totally freaky on me, I have naturally dark hair, haha
I think it's worth going to the salon, because it would last longer and probably be easier to maintain than doing it yourself, especially if it's a drastic hair color change.

I've had red hair more vibrant than that in the photo, but you're right, the upkeep is insane. I used to top my hair up with Fudge colouring cream, I don't know if you have that where you live but there would be an alernative. It's basically a semi permanent colour cream that you just massage through your hair and rinse out. From my experience, it's stayed in longer than box dyes & it's not as pricey or damaging on your hair. It also works as a booster for the dye to work on.

Going to a salon won't make a much of a difference other than to your wallet. My friend who is a hairdresser first got my hair red but it faded just as quickly. Red pigment is both the strongest and weakest of pigments in that it fades fast but is hard to get rid of. No matter where you go, it will fade eventually and usually pretty fast.

That is a very cool colour. I am not brave like that but GO for it I say.
I'd do it at salon though, a bit safer and will give you quality colour and will ensure you won't damage your hair :)

her hair is absolutely gorgeous!!
i would maybe try going to a salon & then follow up by using shampoos & conditioners made especially for color-treated hair :)
hope that helps!
